Description

Behold, the djinn. A true specimen of his kind, Mankar sports the sort of perfectly-sculpted physique that belongs on a marble statue and a jawline that could cut steel. He is not clean-shaven, but rather keeps a short-cropped shadow of facial hair often styled in peculiar patterns. His eyes, electrifyingly blue, peer at the world with clever intent, while his mouth is often upturned in a faint smile.

The djinn is a friendly, expressive sort, favoring wide gestures and flashy attire. He typically wears a turban adorned with jewelry and gold, but sometimes lets his rich, wavy black hair hang loose to his shoulders. It's rare that Mankar is seen without a few bracelets and necklaces that might make a sultan envious, and his ensembles inevitably convey the impression of exotic and far-flung locales.

His body typically fades into vapor below the belt, and his silhouette is sometimes blurred, lending the djinn an ethereal quality that suggests he isn't entirely part of the material world. Sometimes he will manifest from within a lamp - sometimes, he will not.

Abilities

Mankar is a fairly standard djinn, with abilities that reflect the D&D conventions, though he's also treated as capable of manifesting on worlds that may not conventionally fit within that cosmology, such as Earth.

Noble Djinn Traits.
- Darkvision 60 ft.
- Immunity: Acid

Telepathy. Mankar can communicate telepathically with any other creature within 100 ft. that has a language. It is possible for Mankar to address multiple creatures at once telepathically, although maintaining a conversation with more than one creature at a time is just as difficult as simultaneously speaking and listening to multiple people at the same time.

Plane Shift. At will, Mankar is capable of shifting between planes, as per the spell of Plane Shift.

Wish. Once per day, Mankar is capable of granting a wish, subject to the request of a petitioner, as per the spell.

Spell-Like Abilities. At will:
- Invisibility
- Wind Walk
- Gaseous Form

Lore & Personality

A noble djinn, Mankar has eschewed matters of interplanar significance to amuse himself as a humble merchant of exotic curios. A known member of the Resplendent Consortium, an organization facilitating extradimensional commerce, he now plies his trade in Port Saban and across other doorways in the multiverse.

The djinn specializes in procuring items from places difficult to traverse, but he refuses to deal in slaves. There are few planes Mankar has failed to travel, or worlds that remain unknown to him - one is equally likely to find high technology and sorcerous relics in his possession.

He is generally affable, but will sometimes regale unwitting ears with tales that seem outright false or at the very least exaggerated for dramatic effect, whether or not they are terribly inclined to linger and listen.

Others may discern the following:

Lore - DC 20. Mankar supposedly grants wishes; though, as with all djinn, the granting is sometimes a perilous thing, and what is given is not always what is requested.

Lore - DC 30. The djinn is a known collector of exotic animals, which are well-attended in a menagerie, or sometimes allowed to roam free within a sprawling extradimensional habitat.

Lore - DC 40. Mankar spent a recent stretch of eternity as prisoner to a cosmic entity known as Zargon the Returner. It's unclear how he escaped, or whether the entity will pursue him when it, well, returns.

Lore - DC 50. A line of cologne called Magnifique is sold on several worlds using photographs and art of a man matching Mankar's general appearance. The aroma is subtle, yet memorable.
