_____________ This mimic has been observed and dubbed - 'Panda' after the stuffed animal toy panda it appears to have assimilated. A creature that is able to take the appearance of inanimate objects, and thus animating their facsimiles of those objects. The mimic - 'Panda' Appears to be passive and non aggressive, parking itself all over the realm, surprisingly without corpses hanging out of it's gaping maw. It appears to understand the value in not attacking anything that moves, though that does not mean it couldn't be potentially dangerous. Though it appears to value peace and the protection offered from being within the city, opting to feast on rats, crabs, and seagulls to sustain itself, at least for now... 'Panda' Often taking the appearance of stuffed animals, furniture, amongst other things, though it will most often stay in the shape of what it first adapted, changing more than anything out of boredom to stave off stagnation in between naps. Affected Objects: Inanimate objects that have been around for a while and appear to have been disturbed and abandoned. May have been touched by 'Panda' and adapted. Though the creature seems to prefer to stay in its original form, the chance of it taking the form of a furniture item, which appears to be the most common form of adaptation, is high. The fact that the creature has adapted to the original form so much that it has ceased to care to change shape and instead will stay in that shape even if it's original purpose has been fulfilled, makes it dangerous to simply leave it be. If 'Panda' is starved, The mimic will likely either revert back to its undisguised form and attempt to devour any movement, causing the eater to become quite agitated and violent, much like a piranha. The creature will then likely to revert back to the original form. The mimic appears to have a similar mind-set to that of a bee or a flea when agitated. The mimic's movement appears to be more agile than a flea or a bee, able to dart around in the night with surprising speed, though it is likely to become a little bored if it's searching for the same thing for too long. It's also likely to show its true form when it's getting agitated. What to do about 'Panda'? As it has adapted to its original form so well, 'Panda' is quite capable of fighting back if you try to harm it. However, it's attacks aren't very effective against you average Professional Adventurer/Hero/Villain, and in fact seems to damage the mimic rather than the target if the target is to be considered strong for someone living in the realm. Its life energy and health are linked to the number of people and objects that are around it. So, if there are many people around, it is much more likely to stay in its original form and only come out of it if it is needed to forage for food. It can also come out of its initial form when it senses danger or a threat, though it will only come out of it for a brief period of time before returning to it's original form. As it is constantly looking for chances to sate it's hunger so it can relax again, . When 'Panda' isn't disguised, it appears as a mass of feminine female arms and legs, sometimes more, sometimes fewer, attached to a chest filled with sharp teeth and a long wet tongue. If you possess moderate Animal Empathy, Lore, Intimidation, Spot, Listen, Or Persuade, Perform skills, you can have varied interactions with 'Panda' you otherwise might miss. Trying to feed, calm, herd, agitated, frighten, etc* |
