An old fairy tale, found in some long forgotten story book:

"Mem the Merry, upon the thatch,
watches the moonlit pumpkin patch.
In a villiage grim, forlorn and grey,
where many an innocent, the people did slay.
Playing a tune in the midnight black,
Mem calls to them to dance with Jack.
One by one they leave their beds,
and one by one, they lose their heads.
Heed not the sound of the Minstrel's call,
or with a crimson blossom, you shall fall.
For Mem the Merry, upon the thatch,
Waits for you, in the pumpkin patch."
