To the naked eye there are scant hints as to whether this otherwise-human young woman is the empyrean child of a celestial parent, or if she is instead of descendant aasimar blood long since untethered from sacred belonging. The richly white-feathered wings could belong to either, and in this light the smoothly golden glow to her skin could just as easily be the soft vitality of ordinary mortal youth (she appears to be about 20 years old).

Nor do passers-by have much to go on for accurately determining who and what she is to the world, having outfitted herself more like a civilian or tourist familiar to Sinifer's range of styles than what she actually is, the professional capacity that brought her here. Violeta has worn almost no formal livery since the day of her arrival, mostly because she's canny about her social situation (but also, a little, because despite herself this strange city excites her). But observers familiar with the world of knights and heraldry would be able to note that certain markers on her person - a brooch here, a woven sigil there, a quiet grasp of elite social graces but no behavioral entitlement toward elite status - would together indicate that she is somebody's squire.

Regarded from closely enough, the symbols among her clothes or jewelry demonstrate the crest of an apparently somewhat eccentric liege: a hedge paladin fairly well known in some stretches of distant countryside (but utterly unheard of in cities) named Lady Edith of the Greengrass. In the background of Lady Edith's coat of arms a sunburst wreath of golden grain encircles a blooming rose, whose lowest crimson petal is pierced like a lip by a single ferrous thorn. Standing guard before it are two pitchforks crossed over like military polearms: one is golden and deadly sharp, its wicked iron tipped with blood; the other is green and blossoming into new plant life, voluptuous with fruit. The motto reads "In vinculis, desiderium revelatur."
