They say what is dead may never die, and perhaps this applies to the draugr Bodil.
  Once a proud shieldmaiden and wife to be, she was betrayed by her own sisters, out of jealousy, and poisoned.
  The act was so insidious that it made Bodil forfeit an afterlife and return as a revenant, the living dead, performing an ancient Norse ritual of hanging herself from her horse, while under the effects of the poison, to make a pact with Helheim.
  What became of her sisters is yet unknown, as they vanished, fled in terror perhaps, upon hearing the news of Bodil coming back to haunt them.
  The fever induced by the poison boils within her forever, and a cold chill surrounds her presence, that of death and decay, though her flesh remains untouched by rot.
