Some people are just meant to be good parents....and then there was Mona's mother.  A former resident of Sinfar, her mother spent much of her youth partying in the city, indulging in more than a few vices and ending up with a daughter to show for it.  Rather than take the opportunity to turn her life around, however, her mother quickly grew to resent her daughter.

As she grew up, her mother continually offered backhanded compliments to her to keep her confidence down, and flat out lied to her in order to do something truly devious.  It was a tradition in their home that nothing be worn to cover one's nethers.  Obviously this is a ridiculously odd tradition, but such a thing was made normal to her, no doubt to her mother's enjoyment at the talk that quickly spread about her daughter.  

Eventually her entertainment at her daughter's expense reached it's limit, so she decided to do one last cruel act...send her daughter to Sinfar on her own to learn the ways of the world.
