Cassian, once an orphan traded from place to place across Faerûn in his youth, eventually found his footing as a sailor and tradesman of the seas. He served under a captain who, by most standards, was a decent man...one willing to pass on his knowledge and skills of the waters.

When the captain's life was cut short by years of heavy drinking and excessive smoking, the crew quietly disbanded, each member drifting off in their own direction.

Now, Cassian charts his own course in Saban, taking on whatever odd jobs he can find to stay afloat. He generally keeps his head down and avoids trouble, though his weakness for married, curvaceous women has earned him the occasional black eye.

Aside from that, he's fairly ordinary...a decent enough man, with no magical abilities or extraordinary strength. Just another soul trying to get by.
