Backstory: From an early age, Zar'veth T'sarran possessed a voice that could command a room and a presence that lingered long after he departed. Where others of his House honed cruelty, he mastered allure. Not all saw value in such gifts, but his Matron did. She nurtured his talents, shaping him into both performer and weapon, allowing his music to flourish alongside his training in more lethal arts.

In time, admiration gave way to ambition.

Believing his potential could be refined further, she drew him into forbidden study. What began as guidance became something far darker. Beneath dim candlelight and whispered incantations, she offered him to a ritual meant to bind death itself to her will.

It cost him his life.

And nearly hers.

The ritual faltered. Power slipped beyond her control. What rose from that chamber was not the man she had killed, nor the servant she intended to create, but something caught between breath and silence, fire and grave. Changed. Unbound.

Zar'veth understood, in that moment, what she had done to him.

And what she had failed to do.

The Matron did not leave that chamber alive.

He did.

Without ceremony, without farewell, Zar'veth turned his back on House T'sarran and the endless dark of the Underdark. He left behind name, station, and chains alike, carrying only what he had become.
