Theme:
"But I don't want to go among mad people," the slut remarked.

"Oh, you can't help that," said the cat-man: "We're all mad here. I'm mad. You're mad."

"How do you know I'm mad?" said the slut.

"You must be," said the cat-man, "otherwise you wouldn't have come here."

The slut didn't think that proved it at all: however she went on. "And how do you know that you're mad?"

"To begin with," said the cat-man, "a dog's not mad. You grant that?"

"I suppose so," said the slut.

"Well, then," the cat-man went on, "you see a dog growls when it's angry, and wags its cock when it's pleased. Now I growl when I'm pleased, and wag my cock when I'm angry. Therefore I'm mad."

"I call it purring, not growling," said the slut.

"Call it what you like," said the cat-man, "you'll still sound mad."

Description:
An apt description from a passing glance would be a cheshire cat pretending to be a man, down to the laugh and the way on occasion only rows of sharp teeth and a pair of gleaming feline eyes lingered in the air to denote his presence.

This pale rakshasa of feline mien is called Satin, jester extraordinaire, legends of him sung by generations of Sinfarian parents warning their children of the singer and tale teller that stalks women in the night. Even if the legends would turn out to be false, there's no question that his very presence was unsettling at best, this cartoonesque villain always seeming to plot with that wicked lopsided grin of his.

His story is eons old and as deep as the depths of immoral depravity the cat-man had sunk, but it is not the tale one can see when observing him. It is that haunted gaze in his feline eyes which saw through illusions and lies - filled with strife and vibrant with emotion. To look upon the rakshasa's gaze was to know that there is no happy ending, no romantic fairy tale in this song. And both you and him will end up sad - and alone.
