It appears visibly as an impossibly tiny silver-gold chain wrapped around Keeva’s tongue in a diamond shape, and extending down her throat as far as the eye can see. It works by tightening at the articulation of words. It happily allows most meaningless sounds through, but strictly hampers the victim's attempts to communicate vocally in detail. Repeated attempts may cause the chain to temporarily tighten to extremely painful, and sometimes dangerous levels.

It’s primary purpose is to prevent the development and usage of verbal spells in young witches. It’s success is limited, unfortunately.
