Polymorphs: Vaeldar sometimes changes his appearance using magic to appear differently than his true form in order to avoid the usual social rejection towards undead. Sometimes he takes on the shape he had when he was young. While others he takes the shape of the "Burning Lord", a humanoid with pale skin and fiery eyes.

Vaeldar is an old drow archmage, recently turned lichdrow in order to continue with his personal quest to accumulate as much arcane knowledge as possible.

Even though he is a recent addition to the undead his flesh and skin are already gone. They were completely peeled off his skeletal body by the same ritual he devised to turn himself into a lich.

Vaeldar has been the archmage of a couple drow cities in the past, both of which are currently destroyed. He has hopes his new home will last longer than its predecessors.
