Born in the elven city of Evereska, Roquefort came from a well-to-do merchant family.  While on a trip to Waterdeep, Roquefort was first confronted with the squalor and want that were the way of life for many in the City of Splendors.

The sights and smells of the city had a profound effect on the young elf.  Upon returning home, he felt compelled and drawn to the study of meditation and relaxation to quiet the newfound unrest in his soul.
