The first hard freeze in the farmlands of Aglon, arrived in the wee hours of the morning.  As she stepped outside into the darkness, she felt the magic of sugar frost settling around her.  Not a leaf stirred, no puff of breeze to hasten the process.  A still, quiet covered the land all around; only a slight twinkle of frozen crystal was visible in the ebbing moonlight.  She slipped back into the warmth of the house and waited for the sun to peek over the horizon.

Sighting the first early birds was her signal to step outdoors with her basket in hand.  Already, the sun was shining bright, powering up to melt the splendor of the sugary crystal coating all around.  She marveled at the beauty… capturing nature, frozen in time. Soon, the sun would warm the earth, leaving a kiss of moisture to dry in the early morning breeze.

She set out into the woods to pick some fresh berries from the patch of berry bushes hidden within the hidden Witch's Glade forest. Gathering up as many as she could before she would begin to make her way back out into the safety of the farmlands skipping along the dirt path back to her house to fix breakfast for her family. After a short while her family finally stirred and joined her in the kitchen / dinning room of the small farm house.

After a short while her family finished their breakfast then set out to begin their days of chores and errands. As evening approached it would seem that her family was no where to be found and had yet to return to the farmhouse a few hours later one of  the guards knocked on her door to inform her that they had found her family had met an ill fate and would not be returning home.

She simply sighed as she nodded to the guard and shut the door going back to her chores not quite understanding at first what the guard had told her. As the night grew later and she was relaxing by the warm fire it all began to sink in as the shock of what she was told finally wore off she began to sob for the loss of her family before she decided to push herself up and set out to find out what had truly happened to her family and get her revenge on who or what ever did this to her family.
