While current firearms are simple, often imprecise, and even dangerous devices, they are a technology on the move, and one that will become even more powerful when it is fully fused with magic.

Other gunslingers are masters of distant death, picking off enemies from afar with their strange and wondrous weapons.

Eliza McCourt lived during the late victorian era when society judged women largely on three attributes: family lineage and social standing, physical attractiveness, and the ability to work. The McCourt family pedigree was solid yet unimpressive. Fortunately for Eliza, she possessed such unusual comeliness that no one expected her to earn her own way in the world. In a culture that esteemed beauty, McCourt's looks would get her whatever she wanted. She did not disappoint.

Along the way, McCourt discovered that the currency of beauty was difficult to spend wisely. She occasionally alienated jer father and siblings, as well as setting herself at odds with her church. As a result, Baby Doe's life is shrouded by myth and hearsay, but its central outline can become reconstructed.
