Young, alone, and somewhat lost, Jakob is an orphan whose parents were killed not by a nefarious villain, or a calamity, but by simple accident, when their carriage slipped over a cliff edge.  Untrained and only just past his eighteenth year, he was unprepared when the vultures descended on his father's businesses, and soon found himself with little to his name.  Unable to survive on his own, he managed to find the name of his one surviving relative - an aunt, living in Shadebrooke.  Taking what he had left, he wrote a letter in advance of his coming, and set off to meet her - hoping that she will take him in, and, maybe, give him a foothold in making his way in the world.

OOC - Physically, what you see is what you get.  A young man, innocent of heart and with a quiet nature, who is nevertheless friendly to those around him.
