Big, brawny and enthusiastic, Arlo is one part of an adventuring troupe, and it is easy to see which part.  Wearing heavy armour, carrying a large greatsword and with a fairly open expression, he exemplifies the big dumb hero stereotype.  Black haired, blue eyed, he has a touch of a northerner accent to him, giving his words a burr to their edges, and he is, in his way, handsome enough, but most often oblivious.
