Ayona is truly gifted, a prodigy. From an early age she was found to be a maths genius, with a talent for music. She received a good education expanding her knowledge in a broad array of sciences and the arts, especially in the fields of astrodynamics and physics. Unfortunately tests revealed she also possesses latent psionic abilities and these are strictly prohibited on her homeworld. When the courts decreed that she must be lobotomised her family were forced to smuggle her offworld to spare her from that fate.
