"This strange humanoid-shaped being stands about as tall as a human. Its flesh is rubbery and greenish-mauve, glistening with slime. The creature's head looks rather like a four-tentacled octopus, made all the more horrible by a pair of bloated white eyes."
As far as illithids go, Vykos is not really appealing to most human senses. It has a particularly revolting mouth that is shaped like a lamprey's maw, constantly dripping vile liquid that keeps its tentacles slicky and coated in a thin layer of slime. When necessary, it speaks common with a deep, bubbling voice that might distinctly make one associate Vykos as a female, though nobody would mistake the voice for a human's. A well-read scholar might very well know that the body that is now Vykos' belonged to a human before it was reshaped and twisted by a process known as ceromorphosis. While Vykos has only the four signature tentacles of an ordinary mind flayer, its build is extraordinarily strudy. Though one might entertain the notion of a dwarven origin, most scholars would likely associate Vykos' build with the properties of its human host. Cold and calculating like most of its kin, Vykos treats other people with a certain air of contempt and inherent supremacy. While it is not foolish enough to attack just about anyone it meets, Vykos is certainly fond of testing the mental defences of the people it speaks with. Should it meet a suitably weak mind, Vykos would almost certainly try to dominate it. Of course, as an isolated illithid, Vykos may sometimes act with almost unthinkable sense of prudence and cautiousness. |
