At first glance:
You see a man with the hard eyed look of a veteran soldier of fortune. His stride is measured and he carries himself with straight back and squared shoulders. His long dark red hair is decorated with intricate braids tied in patterns. His skin appears tanned, smooth and, unusually for a veteran, free of blemishes or scars of any kind. He appears to be in his late twenties or early thirties.

At second glance:
He looks very fit, and his movements are energetic. There is a look of danger and the wild of untamed nature about him, underscored by the pitiless, emerald green eyes of an apex predator. His clothing and equipment appear to be made of the finest cloth and leather, bejeweled and embroidered in understated elegance, well worn, but clean and in good repair. He speaks with a slight accent of the Scottish Highlands, occasionally mixed with French phrases.

Upon close inspection:
His skin is cool to the touch and hard as granite. His hands appear strong, though curiously uncalloused. Strange for someone who obviously uses weapons as his trade. His fingers are decorated with two rings. On his right middle finger, a gold ring decorated with what appears to be a noble's crest, a bloody severed head and the words "Loyal apres la mort" (Loyal after death). On his left ring finger a platinum band with a large ruby pulsing as if in time with a heartbeat (lore check will reveal its nature). He smells of vanilla and sandalwood over well oiled weapons and leather. His usually insincere smiles rarely reach as far as his eyes, and depending on his mood, sometimes reveal the sharp, elongated canines of a Vampire.
