In the dungeons far away from a kingdom in a near-abandoned keep, alchemists and magicians were attempting to create war-machines to aid in the conquest of other lands. At some point in time the mages took interests in perhaps creating an army of creatures to aid in the conquest, but many would be hard to capture, let alone train.

Eventually the mages decided to look to the power of their own summoning rituals, noting the creatures they were able to bind. Elementals struck them as a fantastic sort of creature that perhaps they could altar, hybridize, and change into a destructive war-machine.

And so it would be months seeking before a water elemental was captured and contained successfully. The alchemical scientists and mages of the generation would begin to perform experiments revolving around this water elemental. Samples were taken and tinkered with in hopes to produce results.

Failure after failure was created, over six-hundred in all over the course of four years. Eventually, Experiment No. 644 was created.
