This creature is clearly an illithid, and apparently not trying to hide it.

   Mindflayers don´t speak Common, and mostly communicate telepathically. Because of that when speaking with someone I will use Tells. Unless your character is also a telepath, please respond talking normally.
    If you are for some reason immune to telepathy, this should not work. If I fail to read that in your description, please let me now, as I have alternate solutions for that.

Appearance:
    Other than its clothing and the monocle on its face, an obsidian band with glowing blue writings can be seen on one of the tentacles.

Abilities:  
  The obsidian band on one of his tentacles provides limited magical protection to his light-sensitive skin, slowing the loss of moisture in non-Underdark environments. The monocle is not magical, providing only some light adaptation and also working as magnifying lens.
  Even though he is a wizard and not a psion, Saturnyn shares some of the powers common to all of his kind, such as telepathy, suggestion and detect thoughts. All of these may (or may not) be resisted by a strong willed individual.

Demeanor:
       Although as evil and arrogant as any of his kind, this particular illithid is quite aware that he is now in foreign lands. As such, he normally treats individuals of the "lesser races" with a false respect, feigning interest on their opinions and lives. This does not bother him at all, as he came to the surface  only to learn more about magic (also conducting the odd experiment here and there).

Bio:

        Archmage Saturnyn Koldun was a powerful human wizard who one day decided to venture into the Underdark seaking to further his knowledge. It didn't end well: surprised by an illithid scouting party, he was captured and taken to a mindflayer colony.
      There, he was selected to go through ceremorphosis, the process where a tadpole is inserted inside the victim so it can devour its brain and eventually transform the body into a new illithid. It is normal for the new illithid to have memories that belonged to the host.
     Many years later, such memories plagued the young illithid. Naming himself after the mage that hosted his birth, the illithid Saturnyn desired the chance to study magic above all else. Since illithid society considered arcane magic an abomination, he was forced to study in secret, which was slow and dangerous.
     However, fate would give him the oportunity of his life: the city was raided by githyanki who managed to destroy the local Elder Brain. In the chaos, Saturnyn escaped and fled to the surface world.
     Now, the abomination carefully roams the land in search of magical knowledge, using cunning along with his magical and psionic prowess to survive the dangers of a world that rightfully fears him.

LIGHTS:

Green: Rape, stalking, mind control and mind manipulation are favorites, but anything non-red goes.

Reds: Permanent and not previously agreed changes, gay stuff, and usual no-no things (such as server rules and pedos).

Finally, I am tell friendly and open to suggestions on how to improve this character in any way.
