Tessa had always been told to stay away from the old forest. All anyone would say was that the old forest was haunted. Even the bravest of the elves would stay away.

One day, while out gathering herbs with her best friend, they strayed near the old forest. As night fell they were enveloped in a thick fog. All they remember was wandering lost in the fog and finding a tree. Realizing they had come to the old forest, they had panicked and turned to flee only to come upon another tree. They now knew they were in trouble.

They awoke the next morning near the old forest with no memory of what happened the previous night. As they made their way home, they decided not to tell anyone, not wanting to get into trouble.

The following morning her best friend tells Tessa that she had snuck away and wanted to know where she had gone. Tessa tells her she had not gone anywhere, she was sleeping in her bed all night. Her best friend tells Tessa that she had snuck into her empty bedroom last night. Of course Tessa had no memory of anything last night.

That Evening found Tessa walking into the old forest and up to a strange man. They embraced like lovers before he led her to a hidden cave deep in the forest.

As they embraced she offered her throat to him and he gladly fed from her. Then he opened his wrist for Tessa to feed from him.

She awoke the next evening in his bed with a fierce hunger. He taught her to "hunt" and how to "feed". Always making sure she did not get out of control.

One evening she awoke by herself in an empty cave with a note telling her that she was ready and to go make her own way in the world. She first arrived on an island called Darkmist where she found a coven of vampires. When the cove started to fall apart she moved her family to a new hidden location where she concentrated on raising her daughter.

Tessa is concidered an ancient vampire, but still keeps in touch with other vampires, helping to guide them if possible.
