Godfrey, amongst other men took to the life of a mercenary. Such a life has brought him both spoils of war, and the bitterness of defeat. All of which has come to harden his soul, and body.

His arms would be muscular, not so much from swinging his sword, as the many times he has dropped his blade to enter grappling, and to sieze the initative against his opponent. More often than not, it is his dagger that wins his battles after he has subdued his enemy, than his admirable longsword.
