This creature exudes an air of misery about it. Its stature is haunched over and weary-looking, with the heavy, brown and dusty robes it wears looking like they are dragging it down with them. When it walks, it almost looks like it is gliding along on account of the length of its robes covering even its feet. Not a single inkling of flesh can be seen, as the creature is covered entirely, from the tight, leather gloves on its hands, to the wrappings around its head, hidden behind the pale and creepy mask of a plague doctor, its long, beak-like nose standing out from under its wide-brimmed hat. Hanging from the sash about its waist a set of beads are wrapped, attached to a dangling emblem made of weathered bronze; on its surface is portrayed the insignia of the Dustmen.
(http://wiki.sigil-planarlegends.com/images/8/85/I_dustmen.png) Lore Check: DC5 The Dustmen are one of the factions found in Sigil, the City of Doors. Commonly viewed as depressing and dreary deathworshippers, they make their base of operations in the Mortuary in Sigil, where the bodies of all who die in the city. Lore Check: DC10 In truth, the Dustmen don't so much worship death as they believe that this world is an intermediate state between Life, which came before, and the True Death, which is to follow. Everyone is just living a shadow of true life in their current state, according to the Dustmen, and because they cannot let go of their previous lives, they are stuck in this place. Lore Check: DC15 Dustmen believe that some beings are 'more dead' than others, such as those who have already died and gone to the 'afterlife' to become Petitioners in the Outer Planes. Those who are the most attuned to the state of true death are the walking dead, who have attained purity by purging themselves of passion and sense, which is the path to the True Death. Lore Check: DC20 The manner in which the Dustmen believe that this is to be accomplished is to appreciate Death in the proper fashion. By exploring this so-called life to its fullest and understanding one's present state of existance, with all of the trials and tribulations that accompany it, a Dustman seeks to move closer to the Truth and with it being released from this world into the True Death. Being restless and rushing into it is the path of folly, leading to a quick death and having to repeat the cycle again in another form. Only those who take their time to try and understand and respect Death will find the Truth. Lore Check: DC30 The Dustmen have one of the most unique abilities of all the factions in Sigil, embodied in the 'Dead Truce'. This truce is a pact, reached in times more ancient than memory, between the Dustmen and the beings of the undead realm. The effect of the truce is that the undead will ignore a Dustman, so long as the Dustman does nothing to harm the undead creature. If the Dustman breaks the pact, the undead and its companions will treat the Dustman as they would any other living being. This pact applies ONLY to Dustmen. If a Dustman is with a group of other people, the undead will react to the rest of the group normally (attacking, for example) while ignoring the Dustman. Should the Dustman aid his companions, those undead are released from the pact. Because of this possibility, it's more common to find Dustmen working side by side with zombies and such. ---LIGHTS--- REDS: Herms, futas, shemales, dickgirls, etc. Also blood, pain, bondage and beatings.
