Physical Description:
It isn't common to see a mind flayer wandering out of the Underdark.  It's less common to hear one speak with a voice.  This one, however, does both.

With trouble, the mind flayer can speak with words, though he still prefers to interject into one's mind.  

Somewhat docile compared to his traditional mind-controlling kin, perhaps he has other things in mind with his life.
