Merin was adopted by human parents at a very young age. Just before his coming of age, Merin's village was overrun by a Necromancer and his undead minions. His small stature gave him a good enough hiding spot where he waited out the battle until there was nothing and no one left. Emerging from under the wood planks of his home floor, he quickly escaped the village before any undead were brought back to life; not knowing if his foster parents were alive or dead.

Merin has been in a few battles, leaving a few scars near his mouth and cheek. He wears a hood and mouth cover to hide said scars.
