Some professors from the University hired me during a research trip to carry gear for them, and smash critters with me hammer.  They had some interesting tools, and curious ways about them, so when they asked if I wanted to follow them back to the university I took the job.  Since then I get a bit of work from em, and am learning the areas around Ambrosia.
