Karinaa has always had a mean streak. She was raised as a ranger, taught to protect the flauna and flora of her home. She was taught wilderness and survival skills, and how to stay hidden among the shadows. But something went wrong with the first lesson. She would protect the animals of her forest with a horrifying ferocity, and with minimal regard for anyone's life but her own. If someone came into HER forest, and hunted HER animals, they would soon meet an untimely death at the sharp end of her dual axes. She wielded her axes with extreme prejudice against anyone who dared enter her forest, slaughtering countless hunters who simply wanted to put food on the table for their families. Her teacher's tried to explain what these hunter's were doing, that they were simply trying to provide for their families, but she would have none of it. She continued hunting the hunters, and soon she was convinced that all other humans were out to harm her forest, and started killing everyone that entered her forest, and not just hunters. Her teachers, disgusted by her disregard of human life, exiled her from the forest where she was born and raised, and cast her out into the world. They set one of their elder rangers to follow her and record her movements. They were hoping that being forced to leave the forest would make her see the value of others lives, but this elite ranger was given a task; if she continued to do evil, she was to be killed. It only took a few days for her to realize that she was being followed, however. All of the time spent hunting the hunters, who were accomplished woodsman themselves, had given her an uncanny ability to slink around in the shadows, and to detect other's who are doing the same. Not knowing, and not caring, who her stalker was, she set up a trap for the ranger. She relayed her plan to her animal companion, a huge, fierce brown bear she had named Ripper, and got him to attempt to sniff out her stalker. This worked better then she had planned, since the skilled ranger had no fear of any animal, and simply approached the bear like he would with any other. The bear, however, recognizing the scent of the stalker, quickly attacked. Karinaa, hearing the sounds of battle, rushed to the aid of her companion, and against the fierce grizzly, and the ferocity of the young ranger, the older ranger stood no chance.

Now she roams the forests and the dark places of the world, indiscriminately applying her twisted sense of justice to whoever she feels deserves it, whilst also honing her stealth and developing the skills of an assassin.
