No amount of time outside the Underdark can ever erase the marks left by Drow society. Being cast out by his own house has left Theranis with conflicting feelings toward Drow teachings and culture. Left with no apparent destiny and too much time on his hands Theranis is given to wanderlust and taking up with thieves, pirates, and naer’do’wells the world over. He has gambled away most of his ill-gotten earnings in blind misery. His debts owed to dice games and hookjack have stacked to legendary heights, it was only a matter of time before he owed a fortune to most every loan shark in the realm. Theranis has become a desperate man, unable to find large amounts of coin needed to repay his debts through any other way than to do things most people consider to be questionable. It was never enough for Theranis to survive on luck alone, he will do what he must before his bad debts eventually catch up with him.
