Born deep within the jungles of Chult, Otis, or Zakhr as he was known to his tribesmen always had a longing to see more of Faerun than the wilderness that his homeland had to offer.

At a young age he departed his jungle home for Amn, a land where he made a good home for himself. The musical talents he had groomed during his youth in Chult earned him a good reputation as one of the finest songsmiths in Keczulla where he played for the most influential members of the strictly hierarchical society. It was also there that he took the name Otis, simply because the citizens of Amn had a hard time taking to his rather uncivilized name, not to mention the trouble they had pronouncing it.

Otis is in appearance rather unremarkable, were it not for his rather flamboyant clothing and the various instruments he carries visible upon his person most all the time.
