Born to farming parents Thokul spend the formative years of his life toiling in the fields and tending to the animals. No interruption and no indication that the world was greater than the monthly trip to market.

After the death of an uncle required his presence in the county Thokul set off on the family's donkey.

A group of bandits waylaid the innocent Thokul and after delivering a healthy beating, left him bloody and bruised in the road.

A passing scholar found the bloodied Thokul and assisted him to a nearby monastery.

Unfortunately the assault had caused a serious concussion. Thokul had lost his memory, had no idea where he had travelled from nor his own name.

The clerics took pity and provided him shelter and trained him as his own. He was made aware of the events leading to his amnesia and swore a vow to discover his roots, modest though they were.
