He comes from afar after the death of his wife, to be with his daughter. Moneys from the sales of his estates allows him frequent travel to visit with either of his two sons as well.

Though in his 60's, he is still physically vital and able to hold his own on a hunt or in other duties. His demeanor suggests many experiences in life and he may refer to some of his previous occupations as a forester, caravan guard or even his business as a merchant or when he was in politics.

Occasionally he displays a pendant of some strange design indicative of some secret society. When noticed he's likely to tuck it away in his shirt quickly and say nothing about it.
