Description
Deep in the wilds of the Northern mountains lived a small enclave of elves. Although the lands around them had long ago been abandoned by the races of men, and even the other elves, this clan remained – the last of the Mountain Elves. The land was good, with rich soil for crops, tall trees, cool water, and crisp air. Surrounded by such bounty, the elves prospered - with but one major problem. The mountains were filled with dark, deep forests, massive caves, and broken-down old fortresses from a long-gone race, and in these hidden places, monsters and beasts thrived. For many years, the elves suffered dearly, as the monsters launched endless raids against the clan. The outlying villages and farms suffered the worst, as they had no walls to defend themselves. Even the walled cities were at risk, if armies of elves did not patrol constantly, repelling the attackers before they could breach the walls and enter the cities.

The clan leadership tried to wage warfare against the monsters, but the only way to defeat them in combat was with masses of troops, and against these forces, the monsters simply retreated to their hidden places and waited until the armies returned home - only to launch their attacks again. Even worse, with the army away in one part of the wilderness, hordes of trolls and orcs would nearly always arrive from another direction, and spread their terror throughout the kingdom, unchecked.

Desperate to stop the devastation, the clan's highest leaders created a last-ditch program. They observed that as the monsters moved through the countryside, they showed little interest in the actual wealth of the kingdom – gold and jewels were generally ignored and crops were untouched. The beasts killed anyone they encountered, tearing even the strongest of the elves limb-for-limb, with the exception of the most beautiful of the young elvish woman. These they brutally raped, before casting them aside, often passing the fair elf from beast to beast until each had been satisfied. And then, a peculiar thing would happen. As they carefully reviewed the records of attacks through the years, the clan leaders realized that the monsters, once they had violently satisfied themselves at the expense of the maidens, would become uninterested in further aggression, and would retire back to the wilds from whence they had come.

The leaders reached a desperate conclusion: If they could convince the most beautiful of the elvish maidens to venture forth into the wilderness alone, the rampaging monsters might never reach the inhabited portions of the kingdom! However, finding volunteers for such a program would be almost impossible, and forcing the beautiful elves into such a service would meet great resistance from the entire community. So they resorted to a massive deception: A program was created called the Paladin Training Guild. The stated purpose of the program was to train the most pure of the elves to be fearsome warriors, greatly skilled in battle, who would take the fight directly to the enemy! In order to ensure that the people would understand why only the most stunning elvish maidens were taken into the program, they quietly added new teachings to the standard elven education. The greatest of these teachings was, “Beauty is Purity, Purity is Perfection, and Perfection can never be defeated!” It was thus understood that a gorgeous elf maiden would be at a great advantage in battle, simply because her beauty made her perfect, and thus unable to suffer defeat.

The Guild constructed a private Training Academy in a secluded part of the kingdom. Across the valley from the new Training Academy, a large complex was constructed to serve as the Paladin's base of operations between quests, and to provide a luxurious retirement for those Paladin who had completed their period of obligation. The program was most prestigious, and young elven maidens quickly aspired to be accepted to the Guild academy once they had fully blossomed into maturity. But the academy did not accept applicants. Rather, scouts traveled across the kingdom, searching for the best candidates. To be selected was a great honor, and the life of a paladin was coveted by all.

Within a short time of the program's introduction, the inhabits of the kingdom began to notice an effect. The raids were dropping off some. They marveled at the skill of the Paladin, and clamored to see them at fairs and other events. But they were rarely seen – occasionally a rare Paladin would make an appearance, and stand in silent beauty before her enraptured audience. A guild representative would tell of her tales of great victory in battle, but the Paladin would never speak, lest her purity be destroyed, or so it was explained. Most of the time, they were far too dedicated to their quests to take time out for appearances at the festivals – and yet the people of the kingdom only grew to admire them more. As time passed, the raids continued to decrease, and the young elf maidens all hoped to one day be recognized by the academy scouts.

But the truth behind the Training Guild was far more sinister. While the scouts were looking for the most beautiful of the elves, they were also looking for those of limited intellect, extremely naive, and possessing a great sense of honor and duty to the kingdom. These candidates would be the easiest to convince and the most likely to carry on in the face of adversity.

The training masters passed on very little knowledge of combat to their new recruits. Realizing that a fighting elf would most likely be killed by a monster, and thus be less desirable to satisfy his lust, the training masters taught the recruits to loudly announce their presence to their foes, holding their giant swords in but one of their dainty hands, and reciting a lengthy vow of combat, in which they proclaimed their inevitable victory over their foe. Only then were they to make any gesture of attack, and in this area they received virtually no training. Once a Paladin could successfully repeat her vow of combat, and managed to swing her sword back and forth through the air a few times without dropping it, she was pronounced fit for warfare, and praised by her instructors for her amazing natural fighting ability.

Far more time was spent in the “Purity” training. The maidens were clothed in the Paladin uniform, which consisted of so little clothing as to barely be considered as such. The importance of beauty was repeatedly stressed, and recruits were always reminded that the perfection of their appearance was their most crucial asset, and the key to victory. They were taught how to walk with poise in their tall heeled sandals, even over rough surfaces. They were instructed in ways to maintain their exquisite appearance, even under the harshest of conditions. After battle, they were told to always ensure that they appeared flawless before advancing in their quest. And their appearances were often altered – many a maiden found herself feeling extremely drowsy after an evening meal, and woke many hours later to find that some portion of her body had been enhanced – whether it was the removal of some tiny skin defect, the straightening of a few toes, or the enlargement of her breasts. The concepts of duty and honor were ingrained into their minds, and there was no tolerance of selfishness or arrogance – the maidens were to be the finest examples in the kingdom in every way.

As the trainees slept, the third aspect of their preparation took place. The kingdom's most powerful wizards entered the rooms of the sleeping maidens, and performed spells of protection and endurance over them. Although they could not protect the Paladin from the pain they would encounter, they hoped to give their bodies unnatural resilience, allowing them to survive the trauma of being forcefully penetrated by members which were sometimes nearly as large as the torsos of the Paladin themselves! Under such an onslaught of violence, even the most dedicated Paladin would surely flee after her first few attempts at battle quickly found her at the receiving end of a monster's lust, and so the wizards chanted spells of dedication as well, making
