Description: The World of Midland - Midland is a vast realm paralleled to any multiverse of its type. Its geography so vast and diverse from desert sands, to great mountains. Allowing a wide range of species to take residence within the massive country(its technological era being very similar to that of late European Medieval Cultures.) The Kingdom of Bristolia is situated between a peninsula of northern and southern Midland, making it a brewing pot of diversity of races and species. Its court is known as the Royal Bristol Commons, and is headed by its current ruler: King Alphonse 2nd of Bristolia. Bristolia, is currently in a late renaissance: a rebirth of classical arts, music, fashion, and culture similar to a 16th Century European Society. As such Sidney adopts these as part of her proper station and can come off as snobby, bigoted, or sometimes ignorant, and abit abusive to her servants. Because Midland has entered itself into a more civilized Era, much of their society roles change from gender roles,& title's compared to other worlds. The teachings of science, advanced medicine, law, and refined culture allows for all races to engage in various new applications and fields. Midland still continues to cling onto alot of old ideals including the right of Sovereign Monarchy rule, or Aristocratic rule that still bind the common people to a life of servitude. Because of this, Midland undergoes a vast new reformation period of free thinking, or independence. Whether if Midland will ever live to succeed in its golden era is yet to be tested as conflicts between old law and new reformative rule clash into sometimes violent skirmishes between other nations. About Sidney Blanchett De Bristolia - At a glance Sidney would be a beautiful young adult Half Elf of her culture. Her attire and manicured appearance all indications of a woman of high standing and breeding. Sidney was born into a wealthy family between a mutual arranged marriage of her father: Joal du Chartry, and her mother: Lemariel, daughter to a wealthy Elvish family. There matrimony arrived with Sidneys birth, where she would be raised in th quaint urban countryside of the Bristolian Regelian Fields, at her fathers Manor. There she learned everything from home a woman of her status was provided. During this time she also became accustomed to having servants wait on her every needs. Something that gave her a secret thrill, as well as provide her with the requisite disdain and snobbery that was common between nobles and serfs. From an early age Sidney had displayed a great interest of magic, and took after her mothers natural talent to conjure from untapped magic within her (A Wizard). When she became of age, at 16 she was sent to the College of Champagne where she would learn the arts of magic at the request of her parents. During Sidney's time, women were allowed many freedom of professions. It was most common to find women in all professions, even in Royal Court Duties. After her 4 years of study she graduated and was awarded with the title of "Alchemist" a common title to bestow upon wizards in the time period. As many societies of Southern Midland shunned the idea of magic, it is believed that a "conditioned" wizard could be tamed for common societal roles such as advisory, research, restoration, evocation, divination, and enchantment. After shadowing under a Alchemist for the courts, she landed herself as "Royal Alchemist" to the Count of Frankebourg where she helped aid in the Bristol Witch Wars of 1566 with aid from the Secret Society "The Malus Maleficarum" (A society dedicated to the removal of Witchcraft, dark magic in the kingdom). Of which Sidney was a grand supporter of at the time. Her ties with the society drew suspicions upon her outward respect of her community, but continues to serve the Count of Frankenbourg to this day. Such duties may even include the inspection of paranormal or extra-planar gateways... which could have lead to her appearance here in Sinfar. Want to know more about Sidney or Midland?
