Formarly Captain of the underguard, Sternos left his moutain home after the bloody battle of undermountain.  With his home in shambles and everyone he new dead or imprisioned, his pledge has evolved into seeking revenge for his fallen clan.  

Brash, sarcastic, and vulgar are just a few words people would use to describe Sternos.  He is quick to anger, but fiercly loyal to his friends.  The feature he is most proud of is his beard and a sure way to get on his bad side is to insult it.

Sternos has a intense dislike for magic.  Even though it puts him at a disadvantage, he wouldn't be caught dead ingesting magic potions or having a cleric or mage cast spells on him. He finds magic to be destructive and chaotic and he prefers to live a life of law and order.  Infact, beneth his dwarven bravado, he is quite afraid of magic. He would never admit it of course, no matter how bad it got.
