BACKGROUND:

Shao Wu (as he calls himself), or commonly referred as Hei'an Yeman (Dark Brute), is an extremely strong bladesman. Although it may not seem so, he comes from the oriental parts of the world.

He calls himself a direct descendant of Shao Bei, the last emperor of the Great Shao dynasty, however, this was never confirmed. People usually find his affirmation contraditory, as the Shao emperors were thin and rather diplomatic and peaceful than a warmonger, and Wu is the opposite of that.

Wu has challenged and killed several nobles and civillians in his homeland, claiming that "Those whom do not accept him as true emperor of the orient shall face death". Because of that, he earned a huge amount of bounty on his head, forcing him to flee in order not to be imprisoned and executed by the dynastic authorities.

Setting sail with a small group of marauders, he sought to escape as quickly as possible, to a nearby island, so that he could estabilish a foothold in the area and recruit footmen, to seize the power of one of the kingdoms later on. But his intentions were traced and he was ambushed in the port, losing many of his marauders. He, however, managed to escape with a tiny group.

Adrift in the ocean without orientation, his group quickly starved to death because of small supplies, but he could stay alive by fishing. He later arrived in the Dreaded Isles, and his intentions are not different from what he wanted to do in his homeland: attempt to seize the local power.
