Portrait
Description
A man of average, perhaps below average height. Hand-cobbled boots made of what appeared to be sharkskin, complete with hard soles that rapped and clicked noisily with every exaggerated, swaggering step he took.  Pants made of the finest lambswool money could buy, a crisp linen shirt and an oilcloth jacket, all of which were tailored to his precise measurements.  His hair was almost invariably washed in the finest soaps imaginable swept back away from his countenance as if by wind. The man's features were sharp and defined, as though his face were carved from smirking marble, though none stood out in quite the same way as his eyes, which shone out of his features like the most vitreous of emeralds.

Despite all the finery, the young man's neck held his only commonly worn piece of jewelry: a dinged up badly damaged nazar  hung from his neck on a frayed leather cord.  Perhaps it was the way that the edges of it were scratched and damaged..  Perhaps it was the way that it hung out of his crisp shirt and clicked noisily off the burnished button.

Beneath his finery, well, who could say for sure?
