Description
There is a legend of a woman who was raised by gods to walk among them as equal, in a land far away, in a different world, in different  times, long ago, enough that nobody would remember. She praised gods with her actions, and would do their biding in the mortal realms, as such when her time came, the gods granted her this gift, and She ascended into godhood.

Yet this story is not about the woman, neither her actions. This story is about her faithful companion, a beast that She once faced. It was one of her first task delivered from gods, to slay the beast and stop its bloody rage and thirst for revenge after its mate was slaughtered by humans. As it was said before, it is not about the deed, but about the outcome. The woman, instead of slaying the beast, would display compassion towards it, sparing its life, and allowing for its recovery. The gods, as usuall, would not be pleased, yet the woman argued with them, in her boldness, as always, She would claim that She did stop the beast from its murderous ways, as such her task was done. Gods were divided into two groups, one wanting to punish the hero, other wanting to accept her claim and thus make her task finished. Voting would commence, and the votes went 50/50, one god or rather goddess would be left, having the womans faith in her hand. Her finall word was to claim the heroines task done, as she understood the reasoning of both the woman and the beast, as she was the love goddess, and she belived the heart of the beast was torn from his love taken by death itself in such a gruesome way. The task was complete, and the beast was set free on one condition, that it would never start a killing spree like that before.

The wolf agreed, but living in such a way was empty, without any companionship it was merely a biological existance, simply survive for the sake of it, no deeper meaning. Yet the beast was in a predicament, the god of death would know of his sorrow, and because he was annoyed of the outcome of the voting, being keen on grasping the soul of both the hero and the beast, would then promise never to come for the wolfs soul, allowing for its torment to linger for eternity. As the beast grew older, past the age of his normal kin, he would grow and gain new expirience, his body developed and gained extraordinary abilities. Thus one day his keen ears catched a cry of help from thousands of miles away, but the voice wasn't unfamiliar, quite the opposite, it was  the heroine that once spared his life, and stood against gods to let him live. It was unknown even for him, even after years of reflections, why he did so. Yet here he was, running without a stop, at full speed, through forests and mountains, swimming through lakes and sea as fast as he could. Then, when he finally got there, he saw why she called for help. She would battle a giant humanoid that towered above her, two pairs of hand, in each different weapon. Two heads always keen on the surrounding and thick shell like armor that would keep it safe from any harm. It was clear to the wolf why the heroine, even with all her might, would not be able to defend herself, attack the beast or try and sneak on it to try and outwit it. Yet, it was quite poetic, how pride and confidence would be the end of such creature, as the wolf bared it fangs and jumped on the creatures back, the giant was not prepared for such outcome. It gave the heroine some rest from the rentless assault, time to sneak on it, and finally, proper way to find a weakness in its armor.

From that day on, the wolf always followed the heroine, at first not openly, always keeping an eye on her from the shadows, and different spots. Then the heroine started to notice it more and more, and thus their game of feigned ignorence commence, each acting as if it didn't know, the heroine about the pressence, and the wolf that she knew. Time flew past, and gods were pleased with the heroine, as her action were always executed in the way they wished, at that point they, the heroine and the wolf, walked among as companions without their previous hide'n'seek game.

And when the day came, the heroine would await the god of death to claim her soul. She was happy, as she fullfiled her tasks, she lived a life to protect everyone from the evil that wanted to ruin her world, guided by gods themself. She was content as she awaited on the highest hill.

But instead of the god of death, a different kind of messanger came, and announced that instead of joining the halls of death, she would instead be invited to live in the divine palace. Her heart, as always honorable, instead of joy, filled with worry. Her gaze settled on the wolf, her faithful companion for all that time and all the hardship they survived. The beast simply nodded and would lay down, giving no other sign, yet observing the woman carefuly. She understood the stuborn ways of the wolf, and claimed her place among the gods.

The wolf would live forever, as the god of death would not lift his curse, thus he waited to perhaps once more at least catch a glance of her former companion. Yet divine rules forbidded the gods to directly interfere or even communicate with mortals, if its not for a good reason.

One by one, the gods would slowly take pity in the animal, as his life was nothing but missery, and each of them tried  to convince the god of death to uplift his curse. Yet he was stubborn in his ways, and refused. It was then, that the night goddess would came up with an idea, to ascend the wolf into her starry night. It would of course not make him a god, yet it would not keep him a creature unworthy of the gods attention. A perfect in betwen to loop hole the divine rule. Heroine could spend time with him when the sun allowed for the moon and star to shine.

Such happy ending rarely happens in legends, as time passes, gods are forgotten, and when that happens, they disappear. Memories, faith and belvies are what keeps both mortals and immortals. When that happened, the beast would again feel lonely, what was a promise of eternity, turned out to simply be yet another passing moment. It would descend from the starry sky, and instead of keeping in one place, he decided to travel among the worlds.
