Chase Hallow

Portrait Save
Description
OOC: Chase is a creature of my own design. One that I've played from his creation many years ago, until now. From tabletop, to here. He has evolved, grown, and become the character that he is today through many years of development.

Some of him might be considered god gaming, I'm aware of this, and if challenged I am willing to roll dice accordingly, dependent on what he's doing. If incapable of rolling, I will give an explanation why, and if you decide that it's simply not worth the hassle, ignore the action and let the roleplay continue.

Information

Upon a first glance, one could easily dismiss Chase as ordinary or plain given his choice in clothing. However, if inspected for any length of time it could be assumed that he certainly wasn't plain or ordinary.

In fact, it could be claimed that Chase was actually quite the contrary. His stature was almost always perfectly still, aside from the rustling the wind made with his clothing. That too seemed more than a little off.

If the wind hit him just right, it could be noticed that there wasn't much of him hiding beneath that clothing and under his hood. Sometimes it might appear as if he had next to nothing, possibly suggesting an entire lack of a physical form other than perhaps the clothing itself.

Then there was the deep emptiness that resided in his hood, or at least a darkness that gave the impression of vacancy. Of course, if one was to peer into the depths of that cowl, they'd find something staring back whether they knew it or not.

Within was a swirling darkness of dreams, of nightmares. Always moving as if it had no choice but to fill up the large chasm that made up his hood, and possibly the rest of his clothing.

When he walked, which would become apparent very quickly that he would only walk, there came no sound from his footsteps, and no dust rose from his impressions in the dirt. It was as if he stood above the ground, and walked that same path.

Movement, or gestures were much the same. Every motion too unnervingly graceful, too fluid or smooth. Once again providing more evidence that suggested his lack of anything solid underneath his clothing.

Anyone with any sort of magical awareness, or possibly even abilities to detect magic, would immediately know that his clothing was shrouded in it, some hint of binding magic. Dispelling it would most likely release whatever was contained within.

Illusions typically played part of what kept the plain or ordinary first impression, like a safety net.

Those with genuine true sight would see through the illusions and note a shadowy mist that shrouded him and ultimately absorbed the light around him, a plague of instability surrounding him as he stood with his arms folded, or shoved in his pockets. It would give the beholder a potential sense of unease. Along side that, they might notice his lack of a face within his hood, or even understand that the reservoir of darkness was not presumably an illusion but in fact a form of flesh.

For those who stare too long into that swirling pit, they might find themselves unknowingly being lured closer, as if they were mesmerized by the constant whirlpool within the depths of his hood.

When he spoke it was always with a smooth, soft baritone, although it sounded strangely artificial, giving his voice an alien feel. Despite that, somehow it would leave the listener wanting to hear more. It was like a subtle seduction, one to lure prey for whatever purposes that might be involved.

Almost always Chase was polite, even considered gentlemanly. Although rarely did it extend past his voice. Giving him a sort of lazy demeanor, or possibly one that simply had a lack of interest towards most things.

That isn't to be mistaken for genuine disinterest, Chase often found himself engaged in conversation, and more than willing to participate. Rarely of talks he himself initiated.

Chase was a predator, a trap for any unsuspecting bystander that fell into it. If caught he fed upon their strength, and their blood.

Naked

Chase often went without a physical form. For the rare occasions that he did, perhaps for personal gain or sexual attention, the first immediate thing someone might notice were his eyes.

Deep pools of Emerald, that if held in a gaze could almost be as mesmerizing as the swirl of infinite darkness he possessed when clothed.

Furthermore, his eyes held a similar swirl. A thin black spiral that gave the illusion of constant counterclockwise motion from the outer most sciera, to the inner depths of his iris.

The second most obvious thing about Chase's body when nude were the tattoos, their shape always changing, and positions always traveling along the track that was his body. Never in the same place for long, but never traveling above his jaw line.

His body always appeared to be sculpted, as if purposefully engineered to be both strong and agile while at the same time having a rather alluring sex appeal. Further evidence of a predatory nature.

Chase now has a tail, this tail sways and moves seemingly of its own accord. The appendage's appearance would look similar to that of the flesh that swims within his hood. A swirling darkness that never seems to stop moving. A counterclockwise whirlpool of opaque blackness.

More OOC

For those of you who actually took the time to read what I've written, thank you. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to send me a Tell in game.

I specifically left out his race, sometimes people metagame without knowing, and it can spoil specific aspects of RP, sorry. If you must know, ask.

As for the character, to be fair, I'd rather someone didn't just walk up and cast a mord on him. Since 9th level spells are so readily available. If you're going to dispel his clothing, or any other magical equipment he might be wearing. Make a ritual of it, and some serious roleplay, and a valid reason why it might be necessary. Otherwise, I might be inclined to just play it off as some random character casting a random spell at him for shits and giggles.

Unfortunately with this character, if you want to roleplay with him, it will have to be you who initiates. As much as I dislike the idea of standing around doing nothing, I'm inclined to stick to the character concept as much as I can.
