    Having spent most of her life in a remote village tucked into the deepest and darkest of woods, the various calls of otherworldly creatures leeching out from the distant mountains stirred a particular farm girl from her sleep one time too many.


    Setting out from her isolated life and the abuses it promised under an arranged marriage, Katlyn sought to free herself and discover finally the sources of those chilling noises in the night; bravely, naively venturing into the depths of darkness and into the hearts of ancient oaks only to become lost along the way.


     Finding herself in the isles surrounding Sinfar, instead, far from her home, the hunt to discover what inhuman beasts lay in the darkest of shadows drive her onward. Trying to pass herself off as nobility on occasion, the long trampled dream of becoming opulent royalty still lingers within her heart. Little is she aware, however, her village has long since been devoured by the very creatures she seeks...
