Description
And so it was on that day of reckoning that The Adversary laughed because he knew that the ferry-woman had come and his days were now numbered." - The Final Scrolls of The Malakhim

                         Azrael

Hailing from a land far off from the Neverwinter Isles and beyond Azrael has ventured a great distance to discover herself in a foreign land. Her memories are a bleak and fractured mess that only confounds her and those that have tried to delve further into her past. The otherwordly occultist wields supernatural energies that she culls from her patron envoy whose name remains obscured. The metaphysical being's power lies between the stages of mortal passing and brings about entropic forces. All she knows now is that her presence here is willed by her master to fulfill a balance decreed by the ubiquitous being end empower that being's potential within the world she now inhabits.

Author's Foreword:

Gardner, a notable cleric that once knew Azrael in another life far from the isles recorded a series of interviews dedicated to better understanding the celestial being. If you've happened upon these notes then the copies you hold within your possession are of the few left and should either be disposed of or well-guarded for the purpose of discretion.

Cleric: "What is the story behind your name? Does it have a meaning?" Said the doctor, crossing a thigh over the opposite while she rummaged through her documents. She returned to a more attentive posture after concluding her search and set a recorder into the right pocket of her black-silk vest. Dr. Gardner tapped the recorder once. Her eyes widened with child-like attentiveness, not wanting to miss a detail.

Azrafel: "On the eve of my manifestation, the creator granted me a name suitable of my purpose. It is not simply a moniker, but a reminder of the duty I carry towards the realms surrounding the origin and a sigil of power in the minds of those that know it." Stated Azrafel, a warm and placid stare.

Cleric's Notes: "Azrafel's name has been utilized throughout time to sanctify sacred spaces and brings balance during the transition of sentience(Life, Death and Change). Her name is residual in this dimension of sentience. There are metaphysical triggers that manifest when it is 'realized' by a practitioner of otherworldly sciences. Few knowledgeable scholars of supernatural arts truly understand the workings of her name. During my extra-dimensional travels I've come across seekers of knowledge that all seem to acknowledge the very same truth. The name is deeply embedded in the fabric of reality and should be utilized with caution. 'Course very few will actually understand that it takes more than just saying the name and waving your hands around majestically. It takes a metamorphosis of the mind in its entirety and the switch is quite nerve-wracking." Stated the doctor hurriedly into the ticking mechanical device in her hand."
