From far off, Dolores may appear to be human, but up close, one sees the odd coloring of her features, the seams and vents in her skin, the unchanging gaze, the janky movements, and that she doesn't really walk so much as glide along the ground as if there are wheels on her feet.  Her voice is obviously synthetic and auto-tuned as well.

Yes, Dolores is not real.  She is an automaton of a somewhat primitive make, with perhaps undue emphasis on certain parts of her (emulated) anatomy.  But she is real in all of our hearts.
