At first glance :

The man you see is of average looks and build.  His muscular form is by no means chiseled, but has definition.  The knuckles on both hands are scarred and bruised, plus several scars on his face, just over his eyes and about his chin.  There is also a small twist to his nose indicating that it has been broken at least once.  Although he has the physique of one who is used to labor and working with his hands, his clothing has been made with quality materials but with a slightly travelled and dusty flair..

Back Story:

Titus grew up working on the docks of his uncles shipyard.  Since his uncle had no children of his own, Titus was groomed from an early age to eventually take over when the time came.  He was tutored by the school master's eldest daughter in the evenings from the age of nine until he was fifteen.  Most of the lessons consisted of reading, writing and arithmatic.  But she, Marta, had a special love of reading which she passed on to Titus.  When he was about fourteen, she was in the habit of giving him the books as she finished reading them.  Titus had developed a small crush on her by then and would imagine the two of them in the romantic roles as he read her stories.  Unfortunately, Titus was in many ways still a boy, at least in her eyes.  Marta had married and was almost twenty-one when the lessons eventually came to an end.

The years would pass, as they do, and Titus was eventually in charge of most of the daily responsabilities in the shipyard.  Along with keeping his uncles good name, he made one for himself in the process.  By the time he was only twenty-three, Titus was a well respected member of the community and his uncle was beginning to feel the itch to retire.

With a few of his closest friends, they went out to celebrate Titus' upcoming promotion.  They feasted and drank, and then they drank some more.  Titus began to feel uneasy after so much ale and went outside for a breath of fresh air.  Standing there, leaning against the railing next to the tavern door, he removed  a small wooden pipe and pouch of dried leaf from his pocket.  No sooner had the leaf been set a blaze, Titus spotted her.  Marta was walking with her husband along the boardwalk.  They seemed to be having heated words, and the husband stopped dead in his steps.  He grabbed Marta's arm and swung her around to face him.  With a closed fist the man hit her so intensely that she was flung back several feet onto the wooden planks unconscious.  Fueled by rage and ale, Titus flew across the street throwing the full weight of his body into the husband's midsection.  The two men come to an abrupt hault as the dull thud of their bodies make impact with a bakery wall.  The husband's limp body slinks to the ground.  The knee of Titus lands squarely on the man's chest as his fist hammers down on the man's jaw over and over.  Titus didn't stop when Marta's husband's jaw broke in two places, nor did he stop when the man's neck finally snapped.

The street was now filled with the tavern patrons who looked on in horror.  Titus' comapanions rushed to grab his arms and drag him off the now bloody mash.  As the first wave of adrenaline washes away, his eyes see at once all that has happened.  Titus' head slumps forward as his mind swirls and his vision fades out in a rainbow of colors.    ...Then darkness...
