Alexander was created to fit the idea of a Magitech-using world, mixing Manapunk, Steampunk, and Clockpunk elements with a tiny bit of Teslapunk. Loosely based on a potential "Future" version of the D20 Modern Arcana setting (Earth, but connected to other D&D worlds via the shadow plane, with no astral weave), where a massive war caused by resource shortages ended with a nuclear exchange and the flooding of the world due to greenhouse gases (from heavy industry) and the melting of the polar ice caps.
