A giant in Blacksteel, Markus Blackwood is easily recognized even by those who have never seen him, the man stands over eight feet tall, unnaturally so as many in his family have done before him. He is known among the locals as the bearded giant, dirty blonde hair and a strong beard and braid. The man seems never to be out of his armor, heavy plated steel of the finest quality while wearing a blade and shield on his back. Markus Blackwood is in his late twenties, still young yet already an accomplished warrior having won the tournament several times in his lifetime to assure the seat for his Grandfather George Blackwood.

Markus Blackwood is known to have a distinct hatred for elves, as all have in his family. His strides can often be heard well in advance of his arrival as steel greaves clatter against the cobblestones beneath him. His voice is deep and commanding in tone, not having a tendency to mince words and expecting respect from all that see him, whether they want to or not.

He has several distinct scars on his face, all gotten from the tournament battles and he wears them with pride. He is often seen in the Royal quarters or the Chapel in Maidens fount, where he prays three times a day. He is known to be a dedicated follower of the Ancients and despite his often prideful and arrogant tone towards others, he is a man of his word.
