Anton Gaunt

Portrait
Description
The Gaunt family, not being a part of nobility, has rather close ties to Lovelaces, remaining steadfastly loyal to them since the first infamous skirmishes with elves. It's said that the first Gaunt was among the hunting party - a certain Goran, nicknamed "The Gaunt" for his posture and attitude. Displaying certain disdain towards the elves since the first meeting, the man continued to hunt them afterwards - aiding his superiors significantly in building their empire by bringing in more "cattle". Eventually, he created his own family; one of his numerous offsprings intermarried with Taylors, future Lovelaces, thus creating a family of retainers, private bodyguards, groundkeepers, stewards, hunters or craftsmen, treated with respect, but always being made clear about their place.

Anton Gaunt, a man of middling height, severe demeanor and arrogant looking face, had a physical build of an experienced and seasoned soldier. Always standing straight as arrows that he used, his bearing spoke clearly about his profession, habits and skills. Hard, green eyes always seemed to notice the details, as he alertly scanned the surroundings in search of a danger - especially when he was working. Usually one look at his face could tell the whole story about current mood, whether it was a cold aloofness or even more frigid anger, which could replace each other in a matter of seconds. Rarely smiled, as he lacked a reason to.
Clad in solid coat of plates, reinforced by mail shirt underneath; with its weight spread around the whole body he didn't seem troubled wearing it, clearly used to have it on his back. He always kept a long, hafted axe on his person, it being his weapon of choice -  either resting on top of the shoulder or hanging on the belt, its handle nearly touching the ground. Also trained in usage of the bow, he carried it on his back, in a sheath that allowed to draw it easily overhead, together with a quiver full of arrows.
He didn't seem to be inclined to attract any sort of unnecessary attention to his person, except his presence as a guard - and kept out of the way if not needed at the moment. If he had more things to say, he preferred to whisper, reserving his words only for his interlocutor.
