Since she was born Raven loved the night more than normal people. She enjoyed the cool wind, the soft glow of the moon at night, the sound of wolves howling. Much better than the noisy, stinky life of a busy village during the day. Her family were hunters by trade, her father would often take her out to hunt at night, bows in hand her father and her were able to take down a rather large owlbear.

Raven learned well and when her parents passed on she handled her job well. Though the village was awash with whispers of monsters hunting the night. Raven still felt safer at night. Then one night a group of travellers entered the village Raven was enjoying a meal at the inn, when they arrived. A knock upon the door brought a invitation from the innkeeper to enter. Dressed in fine black silk the newcomers gave the air of nobility stepping into the inn they ordered the finest of wine.

Raven stood up paying them little mind as she stepped out to continue the nights hunt. While in the middle of stalking a large buck, she saw the orange glow of fire from the village. Thinking it was an accident she ran into the village only to see all of the village on fire and every single person hanging dead from the tree in the center. Men, women and even the children. As raven looked at them she noticed all of them died the same way, throats bitten and the blood drained. She knew what had killed them, taking a torch to the tree she burned the bodies to keep them from turning.
She took her weapon and never looked back...
