Tall, broad-shouldered, and muscular, Ash towers above most other men as do all those of his family bloodline, even if he himself is something of a runt by Blackwood standards, barely surpassing seven and a half feet. His features bear a certain delicateness from his father, along with his father's dark hair rather than his mother's blonde locks that were so typical of the Blackwood family. He wore that hair long, in a traditional knightly fashion, drawn up above the head as additional cushion when he wore a helm, though left free to fall around his shoulders otherwise.

He kept his appearance well tended to, a mark of someone of station, or who had enough servants to make such work possible on a regular basis. His armor and weapons likewise were well tended to, polished and sharpened, boots shined to a gleaming black. The overall effect was one of exacting military precision, everything kept perfectly dress-right-dress. He likewise kept his face meticulously clean-shaven, accentuating the youthfulness of his appearance.
