Full Name: The Four Deva of Rehanna
Other Titles: Living Tomb of the Rehanna The Eternal Reliquary A strange living construct of unknown make, the odd statuesque being is tall and near perfect in its depiction of a humanoid form. Made of a variety of materials, notably a strange blue hued marble with accents of gold inlaid into its face. However, the most astonishing part of the being's construction is its head. Made of an unknown metal, patinaed in soft blue, the head depicts four outward facing faces, each with winged detailing at the temples. The head hangs suspended, above the constructs otherwise headless body, appearing to swivel in place above a torque embedded into the construct where the neck should be. The name "Four Deva of Rehanna" or simply "Rehanna" for short, comes from translations of the pictographs that appear as decorative 'tattoos' of gold inlaid into the Construct's torso. The pictographs tell a story of four heroes, a troupe of women that came to be known by their people as The Rehanna, though the meaning of the title is unknown. These heroes fell together, fending off some ancient evil, though after their fall, the people they saved created a statue, entombing the hearts of these heroes within, so that they might rest together. How exactly the construct became mobile, or even sentient, is unknown. Perhaps it was always intended to be so, as there remains no evidence of it breaking off from a larger structure, though there is evidence that not everything regarding it, its creators, or those entombed within is depicted upon the Construct. However, the Construct's self awareness is unmistakable, and while itself does not seem to possess the memories of those entombed, it shows mannerisms and quirks that are reputed to be similar to the feats written upon it. The Rehanna is a stark being, possessed of an exacting manner. It watches everything around it, always studying its surroundings with its four sets of eyes, regardless of orientation. When spoken to, the Rehanna has a disconcerting habit of rotating its head occasionally to shift which face is directed to the subject of its attention. As well, it seems to have an awareness of its multiple 'selves', always speaking in plurals when regarding itself. ---------------------------------------------- The Four Deva: Examining the pictographs, one can read about the feats of the four heroes entombed within the Rehanna. ---------------------------------------------- Marta, the Thousand Hands "Heart of the Hand, Inlaid lies Marta, who among the Rehanna, stood against the five legions of A'Tuur. Bearing the palm, she laid low the legions, before rejoining the Rehanna in their fate." ---------------------------------------------- Frigga, the Bloodied Beast "Heart of Rage, inlaid lies Saiyah, who among the Rehanna, was a feral beast, who slew the great serpent, Garmadahl. Bearing the executioner, she beheaded the serpent, before consuming its heart, and donning its skin, before rejoining the Rehanna in their fate." ---------------------------------------------- Nuer, the Fleshweaver "Heart of Knowledge, inlaid lies Nuer, who among the Rehanna, was gifted with the knowledge of creation. It is she, who rose the Liths, which stood against the last army after the fate of the Rehanna." ---------------------------------------------- Trin, the Lightborn "Heart of Light, inlaid lies Trin, who among the Rehanna, bound the nations in peace. Bearing the crook of Amahda, she guided the Rehanna to their fate, the Doom of Kamat." |
