Dani is a pureblooded member of the race known as, Akit. They are a mountain feline race that sport wings from a frozen tundra across the sea.
They are a nomadic hunter/gatherer people that possess a technological level only slightly behind the other humanoid races.
They are an apex predator and their diet consists almost entirely on meat. Akit are comfortable at most climates, but detest rain because it affects their ability to fly. They are not as fast as other similar land-based races, due to their wingspan. Other races often hunt and enslave the Akit to use as pets, guardians or aerial troops. They rarely desire these rolls willingly!

As a kit, Dani'ka was more a wanderer than a hunter/gatherer, and often felt the sting of a tribal reprimand to her backside. The threat of an Elder's lash did little to stop Dani from wandering further and further afield.  Til one autumn morn when she was supposed to be collecting field mice for the younger kits to hone their stalking and hunting skills... Dani'ka was caught unsuspecting by a gale, which blew and buffeted her about, til she was knocked from the sky and as luck would have it landed her, unceremoniously upon a merchant ship, heading towards Sinifer City. When she landed she discovered that she wasn't the only one of her kind in this alien culture! She quickly sought them out and was taken in by Dax and Ani who taught her much and made her one their scouts.

One day, she was instructed to explore one of the outlying regions of Icenfer... a desolate region that by most accounts was treacherous, while her mentors had made plans to the mainland and would be gone for several days. Dani'ka wanted to really impress them by scouting as much area as possible before their return. After her assignment was completed, she waited for their return. And waited. And waited... Days turned into weeks and weeks into months and no sign, no message... nothing!  Poor Dani'ka feared the worst and as the days stretched into months outsiders tried to tell her that some terrible fate had befallen her "family"... Then as the tax-collectors fell upon the rich stores of her mentors and the building was ransacked and looted.. she fell into despair and began wandering aimlessly... still clinging to the hope of finding them once again..
